Innovation

Innovation lies at the heart of the NCRC research strategy. We believe that by supporting creative and innovative ideas, that we can help our researchers to make discoveries that will improve the lives of sick children in Ireland and around the world.

Innovation is a key component of any successful funding application to the NCRC. However, we are aware that in the beginning, new and potentially ground-breaking ideas need a little extra support. That is why the NCRC has developed the Innovation Award. Designed specifically to foster innovative ideas, build new partnerships, and support novel research, the Innovation Award provides a start-up fund to allow researchers the time and resources to gather data to support a more substantial project application in the future.

The case studies below highlight some of our Innovation Successes, from various funding streams.
