Mary began working at the NCRC in 2014. In her current role as Clinical Research Project Manager, she is responsible for managing the Children’s Clinical Research Unit (CCRU) in the delivery of infrastructural support for paediatric clinical trials and studies. This support is extended to study teams both at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and other paediatric centres nationally.
Since completing a B.A. (Mod) in Physiology at Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at University College Dublin, she has gained over 15 years of experience in clinical trials. After several years at ICON Clinical Research Dublin, she moved to Roche Headquarters in Basel where she spent 7 years working on the global study data management teams for various new medicines. She moved back home to Ireland in 2011 to take up a new role at the Haematology/Oncology Clinical Trials Unit at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, focussing on trials in paediatric leukaemia. In her current role, her main priority is continuing the development of the CCRU to enable sustainable growth in the number of paediatric clinical trials conducted in Ireland.
