Alison graduated from University College Cork in 2011 with a BSc in Nutritional Sciences, and went on to complete a PGDip in Nutrition and Dietetics in London Metropolitan University in 2013. Following that, she worked in various locations across London, both with adults in an acute hospital setting and in the area of Paediatric Public Health in the community.

In January 2017, Alison joined the National Children’s Research Centre as a GI Clinical Research Assistant. She currently leads the DOCHAS initiative (Determinants and Outcomes for Children and Adolescents with Inflammatory Bowel Disease) in the National Centre for Paediatric Gastroenterology in OLCHC – the first prospective study of Paediatric IBD in Ireland.
