  • Clinical Research Fellow Dr. Eadaoin Hayes speaks at the CMRF Emerging Leaders Board Dinner Gala in New York

Clinical Research Fellow Dr. Eadaoin Hayes recently spoke at the 4th Annual Children’s Medical Research Foundation (CMRF) Emerging Leaders Board Dinner Gala in New York. The topic of Eadaoin’s speech was “Why it is important to fund research in paediatrics?” The event raised over $135,000 with all proceeds going toward the support of international paediatric research.

On the event, Eadaoin commented “I was honoured to meet the people who work incredibly hard to secure funding for children’s research. They hosted an amazing event which raised a large amount of money to further paediatric research. Everyone on the committee gives up their valuable time and energy to create events such as this. The generosity of the attendees and the organisers was astounding”.

Eadaoin is funded through National Children’s Research Centre’s Clinical Research Fellowship funding scheme. Under the supervision of Prof. Declan Cody, she is working on a project investigating the impact of overweight and obesity on the immune system of children with Type 1 diabetes.
