The Research Education Support Grant covers the cost of university registration fees for hospital staff wishing to undertake a postgraduate degree by research and/or a research skills training course/module. It is aimed at clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals working in a paediatric hospital environment, who wish to conduct research in the clinical workspace. Please note that the Research Education Support Grant does not, at present, cover the cost of registration fees for taught masters.
This funding call is open to clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals working in a paediatric hospital environment. Those wishing to undertake research on a full- or part-time basis are eligible to apply.

If applying for fees to undertake a PhD, MD or MSc by Research the applicant will require the support of an Academic Supervisor and a Clinical Supervisor. If suitably qualified, a single supervisor may act in both a clinical and academic supervisory capacity.

Incomplete or incorrectly completed applications may not be considered. Please confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria for this scheme before completing the application form as applications deemed ineligible will not be reviewed by the NCRC.
Research Education Support Grants will be issued under a rolling call. The call opened on the 13th July 2017 and will remain open until further notice. Please note, however, that due to limited resources, a set number of awards will be available each year, and that this may vary year to year. This round of the call closed in April 2019.
The NCRC will make every effort to notify the applicant of their award status within 3 months of application.
